A few Caprice Projects...

We've had so much going on lately, I haven't had much time to create. These are a few things I created for my open house. The first is a set of door hangers made out of coasters. I'm going to hang them somewhere--just haven't decided where yet.

The second is one of my favorite recent layouts. Just us being silly. I love these papers! It's one of the layouts from CTMH's new Imagine book. I'm hoping one of these days I'm going to have time to sit and scrapbook.

Ugh! Austin's yelling for me. In the two minutes I've been sitting here, Brendan just dumped water in the kitchen. Never a dull moment--better run!

One more... Inside Scrapbooking

I guess after my troubles this morning I just needed a laugh. Notice I'm still not getting much done--LOL!

Thought this was funny!

THanks Aaron for providing a laugh today!

Some days it just doesn't pay to be creative...

I'm trying to get things ready for a class I'm teaching tonight and make a few new things while I'm at it. Well, Brendan has had other plans. While I was back getting things out of my office, he filled up a big rubbermaid cereal container with water and dumped it on the floor. I cleaned it up, changed his clothes, turned on a movie for him and went out in the dining room to work.

All of a sudden, I started smelling Lysol. He had gotten into the cabinet and got a hold of the Lysol and sprayed it everywhere. Ugh! Another round of cleaning, another change of clothes, plus scrubbing him down. Now it's almost time to get Austin and I've accomplished NOTHING! Ok, well my floors are cleaned and sanitized if we want to look on the bright side. Not to mention that the house now SMELLS like a hopital. Never a dull moment around here. I guess I should just be glad it wasn't cooking oil again :)

Here's the envelope album

Ok, I guess I have a few more minutes waiting for everyone to get ready. Here's the cute little envelope album from the LSS. I bought more paper and stickers to add a few more pages. I took lots of beach pictures that will look great.

Sorry I haven't been posting...

I've had a crazy week getting ready for my open house and recovering from it. We are headed down to Long Beach today to visit with family. I will try to post tonight or tomorrow and show you some of my fun new creations. Went to Scrapbook Boulevard yesterday with some friends and did the custest make n' take--a mini album/card made out of an office envelope. Too cute--I can't wait to add more pages to it. I'll try to take some pictures.

Christmas book

Ok, I've been creating up a storm lately, but guess what? I'm not sharing yet--LOL! I'm going to keep everything under wraps until after my open house on Friday. If you want to come, check out my CTMH website for more details. Speaking of, I need to get back to creating--I have lots more planned :)

All right, I couldn't completely keep it to myself. I am so in love with this book, I have to share. It's going to be an upcoming workshop. I still need to add a few pics. We were all sick over Christmas, so I don't have a lot of great ones, but I'm sure I can find a few more. The Santa pic is still one of my all time favorites! Some of you may remember it from our Christmas cards! Let that be a lesson--bring your OWN camera to see Santa. They didn't even get a picture of Brendan before he climbed down. Thank goodness my friend Cyndie told me to take my own pictures.

I'm in love...

Is it possible to be in love with an appliance? I don't know. Last night we FINALLY bought one of the those Kitchen Aid Stand Mixers I've been drooling over for years. I made cookies last night and I am loving it! So fast and easy, and the cookies--DELICIOUS! Weird, I know, that I am so excited about this. Needless to say, the only thing I created yesterday was a perfect cookie--LOL

I did get a couple pages done over the weekend and I'm going to spend today working on some fun things for my open house on Friday. I'll post more later :)

Contest Page

I just finished this page for our LSS monthly contest. We are only allowed to use what is provided in the kit and we have to use everything (hence the key that doesn't really fit). We are allowed to add paint or ink, so I got to play with the paint in my new distessing kit a little. While I LOVED the colors and papers, all the little frames made it tough. I like how it turned out though. If you're local, please stop by Scrapbook Boulevard and vote :) Local or not, I'd love to hear what you think. This is a new style for me.

First Day of School

Austin started school on Monday and what a bittersweet day for mom. He's been in preschool, but it's just not the same. He was so excited and is loving school. I on the other hand, just can't believe he's this old. Brendan took it worst of all. Poor kid asked to go get Austin every 20 minutes that first day. The second day was actually much harder for me. He wanted to take the bus. Let me tell you putting him on that bus and watching him go away was tough. It was much easier for me to walk him into his classroom the first day. Anyway, he's loving school and his teacher is awesome. She does a lot of neat things with the kids and Austin adores her.

Here's a few pics from the first day:

A couple layouts

Ok, so it's not new stuff (I have made a few things, but didn't take pics yet). Here are a couple of Cherish layouts from our trip to Idaho.

Waiting...

My new CTMH goodies are arriving today and I can barely contain myself! I am so in love with the new distressing kit, papers and of course, Cherish's little brother: Imagine--50 more layouts. I can't wait to sit down and scrap some pages. I feel like the lady in the Mervyn's commercial--open, open, open, only it's "get here, get here, get here". My poor UPS guy, I might tackle him--LOL.

Another snowman card

I can't help it--I love snowmen :) This one is using the same stamp set, but Sweet Leaf, Petal and Crystal Blue--one of my favorite non-traditional holiday color combos.

Challenge Card

I made this card from the challenge template Erin (Inky Smiles) posted on her blog. It uses CTMH's November SOTM, Snow Friends, and my new favorite stamp set. I love snowmen and these guys are just the cutest. Anyway, the colors are Indian Corn Blue and Outdoor Denim. There's LG and glitter on the snowflakes--I don't know how well it shows up in the pictures.

Back in the Creative Swing of Things

Feels good to be creating again :) Here's a couple projects I've been working on. The first is a gift for my neighbors for taking care of our dogs while we were gone. The "Family Movie Night" can is filled with lots of candy and popcorn and a Blockbuster gift card. The papers are My Mind's Eye and the letters and tickets were cut with my Cricut.

I've also been playing with CTMH's September SOTM. This card is done with More to Adore papers.

Pond Soup

This was one of my favorite moments of our camping trip. We spent a good portion of our trip trying to keep the kids out of the water spigot. We had to let them have their fun with this one. First Austin grabbed the pot and filled it with water. He said he was "washing it". The next thing we knew it was filled with pine needles, rocks, dirt and who knows what else. Mike asked him what in the world they were doing and he said, "Making pond soup". How can you deny him that one. They sat stirring and "cooking" the soup for at least half an hour. We all had a good laugh over that one. I'm glad he's got such a great imagination--even though it does get him in trouble sometimes :)

I'm Back...

We made it back from Idaho and would you believe after hauling my stuff all the way up there, I didn't scrap or stamp once?! Crazy! I did visit Archivers and left a little piece of me there (a chunk of my money--LOL)--wow I wish we had once here--very nice :) We had a great time camping and visiting the zoo. I took so many pictures that I think I'm going to need to make this trip an album of it's own--LOL! Here are some of my favorite pics:
Mike took these two at the Butterfly Exhibit at the zoo.

These are Lake Payette. We camped just above the lake. The first picture was at 7 in the morning before the sun was all the way up. The second (obviously) was at sunset. You can see all the smoke from the nearby fires.
