A little bit of artwork

Here's a few cards I made a couple weeks ago. I need to make some more. I give all my students handmade cards for their birthdays and I need to increase my stash.

And here's the layout I made yesterday while scrapping with my sister and my mom. I used CTMH Aspen papers and Stickease.

Fingers crossed I get more time to scrap/make cards this weekend. I'd like to play with my new Cricut cartridges while I wait anxiously for my new Spring CTMH catalogs to arrive on Monday.

I hope everyone is having a fabulous long weekend!

Thanksgiving

I hope everyone had a wonderful and blessed Thanksgiving. I know it's been a while since I've posted. I do apologize. November is just a blur for me, so it is nice to slow down some this weekend.

Wednesday, after a miserable day at work with a sore throat that turned into fever and chills as I was driving to pick up the boys, I rushed to the Dr. to find out that I had strep. What a wonderful start to Thanksgiving weekend!! Luckily, after 24 hours on antibiotics, I was no longer contagious and feeling well enough to have everyone over for Thanksgiving. Mike did all the cooking, since no one wanted my germs anywhere near the food. Ok, so those of you who know me well are laughing right now because you know full well that Mike would have done all the cooking anyway :)

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving dinner--my hubby sure knows how to make turkey and stuffing! My mom, stepdad, brother, Taylor, sister Leslie, brother-in-law Scott, and nephew Max all came over. My brother's girlfriend, brother and parents joined us for dessert. It was so nice to spend time with family and realize just how blessed we are--sickness and all. I am really mad at myself that we didn't take very many pictures, though! That seems to happen every year at Thanksgiving. Here's a few.
THe table--if you look closely, you can see the place cards the boys made.
The cousins:
Isn't Max a cutie patootie?!
Poor Brendan didn't know what to think. He's always been the baby of the family, and he didn't like sharing Mommy, Grandma or the attention with his cousin!

Yesterday, I got up and headed out the door at 6am (no 4am for me). I started at Micheals because I had to get my hands on a few Cricut cartridges--can't beat $29.99!! I got Cars, Alphalicious, and Doodlecharms. Merry Christmas to me! Then I headed to Fred Meyer, where I spent lots on Wii games, movies, toys and clothes. I got a lot and the crowds weren't too bad.

Last night we scrapped a little. It was fun, and I got a cute page done that I'll post in a separate artwork post. Today, it's on to decorating--my favorite part of this weekend. Then, at some point, I need to spend some time grading papers. Reality check. Stay tuned for an artwork post...

Would you believe?

I actually made a few cards last night! I am running low on birthday and anniversary cards, and sadly I was a bad card maker this month and missed all October events. So, if you are a member of my family, I deeply apologize. Your October cards will be mailed out tomorrow. Shame, shame!

Anyway, here are the ones I made last night while watching Indiana Jones. I'm hoping to get some more done today, since we're all a bunch of sickies here, and I doubt we'll be going anywhere.

Happy Halloween!!

I hope everyone had a safe and fun evening. Austin says it was the "best Halloween EVER" because he got to spend it with Grandma...awwww! We went trick-or-treating in our neighborhood, and then headed over to Grandma's, where all the action was. I've never seen so many kids. When we got there at 7:30, she'd already had close to 200 hundred come by.

Here's a few bonus shots from last week's trip to the pumpkin patch. As you can see, my family doesn't always follow the rules, but we had lots of fun!
