Proud Mama!

One of the things I love about our school is that every student has to complete community service hours each semester. Austin wanted to make more blankets for Project Linus. We first got involved with this group in January. We made blankets as part of the Disney Give a Day Get a Day program. My mom showed us how to make them, and we were hooked. One of these days I learn to be a better knitter and knit some, too.

For these fleece blankets, Austin chose the fabric and tied all the knots (well, they aren't actually tied, but more of a faux knot). I did help him out with the cutting. The blankets are full size, two yard blankets. It was a fun project, and nice to know that we are helping someone else.

For My Mom...

I'm a little late posting this, but here were the Mother's Day cards I made for my mom. The first one is based on her present. My mom and I are headed to the Rain, A Tribute to the Beatles show on Wednesday. The card uses the You Rock stamp set and papers. You can't tell on the front, but the guitar is a Top Coats Rockin' piece--the image is on clear transparency. It looks more detailed and layered in person.

The second card used Cherry-O papers and one of the fun paper roses I made after seeing the ones on Jeanette Lynton's page here. I'm a very visual person, so I found a couple videos on You Tube that showed how to make them step by step. It was fun and easy.
Overall, I had a wonderful Mother's Day! Mike and the boys bought me chocolates from a place downtown we love called The Chocolate Bar and a digital frame! I'm excited to get it all set up. Then we went to my mom's and had dinner and watched The Blindside--GREAT MOVIE!!

I made these cards from the new Cherry-O Workshop on the Go. These packs are fun and easy, and best of all, you can order the kit for yourself! Kit comes with stamps, Level 2 Paper Pack, embellishments, and instructions for a 12 x 12 layout and 6 cards. Add on extra embellishments for even more fun. For all the moms out there...love this!

I came across this and had to post. I can relate to this a lot more than the Taylor Swift version! Too funny. Love Anita Renfroe!

Sample heritage pages

Here were the pages I put together as samples for the ancestor project I'm doing with my students. These are pages I've done focused on my Grandma, my mom's mom.
Eventually I want to put together a heritage album, so this is a start. I still may add more embellishments, but I wanted to keep it simple for my class.

Thank You, Mom!!

Thanks to my mom coming over last night to help, 31 sets of scrapbook pages are cut, packaged and ready to be put together tomorrow. It took us four hours, but it feels good to have them ready to go:)

Summer Idea Book Now Available!

It's here, and it's one of my favorite idea books to date! I love the new papers, which are fun for summer. Great colors and styles, perfect for whatever type of vacation you are planning this summer.
I just bought the new Zippadee pack, which is perfect for Disney pictures. I can't wait to scrap my pics from spring break! There are lots of fun new stamps, too.
