Birthday cards and scrap room remodel

I've been working hard at painting and reorganizing the scrap room this week. It's still no where near being done, but I'll give you a sneak peek. Here's the piles of stuff in my bedroom so I could paint.

Here's a peek at the color--Sweet Leaf. It sure looks a lot brighter on the walls than it does on paper--LOL! Hoping to get shelves put together this weekend and get a little more together. Still need to get and install the countertop to finish it off. The three cabinets on the end is where the counter will go with bookcases on either side. The cabinets in the middle of the room will go to the garage and laundry room in favor of open shelving from Ikea. You can see my scrap table is already a mess--I couldn't wait to create :)

I did play a little bit today. These are birthday cards for my cousins. One is month late (been bad about sending cards) and one is next week. I used Daydream papers and Cupcake Sprinkles stamps. I love the look of Liquid Applique with this stamp set.
And this is what the kids do while I'm creating. This is all the bedding and stuffed animals from their room thrown to the bottom of the stairs. Hey, it kept them busy, and they had to clean it up.

A Couple Projects--Card Boxes

I had a couple of these darling boxes from CTMH lying around, but I didn't know what I wanted to do with them until I saw this on Jeanette's blog and these on Lisa's blog. I was inspired to make my own card storage. Now I need a couple more boxes for holiday and Thank you cards, oh and maybe a few more categories because they are so fun to make :) I'm painting my scrap room Sweet Leaf (the green in these papers), so I know these will look great on the shelves.

Thinking of You cards--Emporium papers and Stickease.

Birthday cards--Daydream papers, Cupcake Sprinkles stamps, Big Pinks flowers and white ric rac.
The spines as they'll look on the shelf.

MIA

I know I've been MIA for a while, but over a month, wow! I'm so sorry. Things have been crazy leading up to spring break. I haven't had a chance to create at all. Now this week, I"m off with the boys. I was hoping to paint and organize my scrap room. We went to Utah to go to IKEA and I got new shelving and storage--woohoo. Sadly, Mike now has to be gone this week for work, so I don't know just how ambitious I"m going to be without him here to help me move furniture and assemble/hang shelves. We'll see.
I spent all day yesterday cleaning. Except for the 2 hour break I took to run Brendan to the emergency room. He decided to climb on top of our game table to "fix the basketball hoop". He slipped and fell off, hitting his head on the way down. He was pretty dazed and I get worried every time it's their heads, so off we went. They were great over there--got us in right away. One of the nurses was the mom of one of my students (small world), and she and the rest of the staff were awesome with Brendan. The doctor said it looked like he had a concussion, but was otherwise fine. Crazy boy!

I'm hoping to find some time today to work in the scrap room and maybe even play a little. Who know, maybe I"ll actually have something to post :)

In the meantime, here's a few pics of what we've been up to lately.
On the way home from Utah--look at all the IKEA boxes in the back. Yes, I'm doing my part to keep my favorite stores in business--LOL!

Love this pic of the giraffe. They were so close to us, it was unbelievable

A few weeks ago, we took the boys tubing up in Garden Valley, Idaho--we had a blast!
