Scary Day

This is why we have always had our TVs and furniture strapped to the walls!! I've had a bad feeling about the TV since we got here. We set one of my mom's TVs up on a cabinet/end table for the kids to play Wii. Today we heard a huge crash and ran in to see the TV face down on the ground and the cabinet on it's side. Thank God neither of the kids was under it.

From what we could find out, Austin pulled on the cabinet and knocked it over. It did hit Austin on the way down though. The whole side of his face was red and swollen from his forehead down to his cheek. I took him to the emergency room and they ended up doing a cat scan, which thankfully turned up clear--just bad bruising. I have been sick ever since it happened. I feel so horrible and I keep picturing how bad it could have been. I am just so thankful both boys are ok. No more Wii--not until we have a safer place. And the tv didn't fare as well--it no longer works.

I just can't even describe how scary this whole experience has been for us. Now we're off to Sonic. We promised him a slushy for going into the cat scan so bravely. Not a sentence I thought I'd be typing today.

Oh my goodness, I would have been scared, too! So glad he is doing okay, and the CAT scan results were negative. Hug him for me, too! Sonic slushy sounds like a great treat! :) Kel

I know how you feel, I had a experience like this too. I had a tv in our bedroom that sat on a stand I knew was getting rickety. My boys like to watch tv in our bedroom. One day I heard a crash ran in to see the the tv on the floor, the stand broken in too and my 3 year old rubbing his head. I felt horrible. Glad he okay.

I'm so sorry for you and your little boy. Accidents happen. What a brave little man. So glad everyone is okay. Hang in there. I know it can't be easy relocating and not having a house yet and stuff. Take care.

Oh my that is way scary!! I almost know how you feel as a few months back my DD was playing at a friends house and a dresser fell on top of her! I heard her scream from the kids' room and went running. I was so scared that the worst had happened but when I lifted if off of her she was fine (thank heavens the dresser wasn't heavy at all) and ended up with just a couple bruises on her knees. I'm so glad you little boy was okay. Accidents are so scary!

I can totally understand how terrified you were . . . my 3 yo son was playing with a tv plug in game and pulled the tv (lucky it was just a small tv) off a shelf that was about 6 feet in the air. Thank goodness he wasn't standing underneath it. It horrifies me to even think about it. All I heard was a terrible crash! So glad your son is okay. I wanted to let you know that I've tagged you on my blog . . check it out when you get a chance!

Oh my goodness, that is so terrible, thankfully the boys are okay, so pleased! I still have nightmares about some of the accidents mine have had in the past, they can still make me feel sick when I think about them!
